UK mobile operators 3 and T-Mobile have collaborated for some time for the development of their UK mobile broadband operations by forming the mobile broadband network limited (MBNL). They have recently chosen a new provider for their infrastructure development.
The goal of the MBNL is to develop the most extensive portable Internet network in the UK. The new provider is a company called Arqiva which will add many more cell locations in the UK.
The two operators agreed that they would need to collaborate if they were to achieve their individual goals of providing the largest operation in the UK. This collaboration is set to save both companies huge sums of money as well as help their competitiveness in a relatively crowded market.
