The UK mobile operator Orange has placed the management of its network operations to Nokia Siemens. This is a five year agreement where the outsourcer will manage and maintain the network. The purpose of this agreement is to add cost savings for the operator as well as improve service levels.
The support for the network will be conducted by existing Orange employees who will move across to Nokia Siemens. There will also be a further number of employees who will be hired.
Orange have stated that they are thrilled with their choice of partner for their network. The reputation and experience of Nokia Siemens made it the perfect choice for the operator. They are also happy that they will be able to continue to provide employment for the Orange employees.
All levels of the Orange networks will be transferred to Nokia Siemens including covering the 2G/3G network support.
Along with being one of the UK’s largest mobile network, Orange provide some of the best mobile broadband in the UK.
