Increase of Mobile Broadband Data Allowance Promotes European Growth

European mobile broadband providers and made an effort over the past 12 months to increase the data allowances that are offered to their customers. The allowances on offer have doubled with has resulted in the overall cost of ownership being reduced. This was discovered from research by the Tariff Consultancy .

The research shows that the average monthly data allowance is 3.9GB which is a large increase from 1.8GB 12 months ago. The pricing for mobile broadband has dropped considerably in the UK by up to 35%. Even so, it is the data allowance increases that appear to be assisting with the rapid growth.

The report also found that mobile broadband is growing in popularity and is fast becoming a threat to standard fixed line services. It showed that average monthly prices are falling below the most popular fixed line services. This is helping to drive its growth in popularity.
