New research has been announced that will come as welcome news to the UK mobile broadband industry. It has been suggested that the portable Internet sector will continue to expand. This is essential news as the operators are suffering from static and falling revenues from their traditional revenue streams as the mobile market is now a mature area and people are also spending less in this area in attempts to save money during the recession.
The key points of the findings suggest that global consumers will grow their portable Internet consumption year on year for the next couple of years. This coming year will show significant growth compared to last. The reports were made at the recent global conference for the mobile communications industry in Barcelona.
Nearly three quarters of all consumers that were polled have stated that it is extremely likely that their portable Internet usage will dramatically increase. An extremely detailed piece of research was conducted polling nearly fifty thousand consumers across the globe.
This presents a great situation for the struggling networks but they must ensure that they act correctly to capitalise on the situation. They need to have the infrastructure in place to cope with the increased demand for data as users make the most out of portable Internet services.
A commentator has stated that the use of these portable Internet facilities should not be viewed as anything but a key requirement to many consumers. Therefore, the networks must put aside the capital to be able to deliver on the demands of the consumers as they grow in the coming twenty four months.
It is the USA which will see the largest increase as usage will double from its present figures. This is compared to Europe where it will grow by a third.
